As fellow quilters, we understand the time and effort that you’ve put into your quilt; so we take great care to ensure that your quilt top is finished and beautifully stitched. We are happy to assist you with the finishing process. We can assist you with choosing thread color, what type of batting that you’ll want, and finding the perfect design to help you achieve the overall finished look you’re desiring to make this quilt the best that it can be.

Please follow the guidelines below to prepare your quilt for the long arm process.

Guidelines

  • Your quilt back must be one piece. You must assemble or sew your backing together and square it so that it can be properly loaded on the long arm machine. Your backing must be ten inches wider and ten inches longer than your top. (For example, if your top is 60” x 60”, your back needs to measure at least 70” x 70”.) If your backing is not large enough, we will attach leaders at a charge of $15.00 per leader. If you choose not to piece your back, there will be a $10.00 fee per seam to piece your back for you.
  • Clip all loose threads from the back and front of your quilt top. If you don’t clip your threads, they may be visible once the top is quilted.
  • Please fold your quilt top, batting, and backing separately.
  • We will do our best to complete quilting by the agreed upon date. Rush orders may be accepted at the quilter’s discretion for a $50.00 fee.
  • As soon as your masterpiece is ready, we will call or text you.
  • You may provide your own thread, but if the thread isn’t suitable, thread will be added to your fee.
  • Minimum quilting fee is $50.00.
  • Custom quilting is available at the shop’s discretion and will start at $0.08 per square inch.
  • Binding services are available at $0.25 per inch and include making binding and machine sewing it to your finished quilt.
  • Please bring the following form with you when you bring your quilt top.
